Obituary For Mr. Etroy Philpot, Sr.

Augusta, Georgia-Mr. Etroy Philpot, Sr., 90, entered into rest Sunday, August 14, 2022 at his residence.

He was born July 17, 1932 in Alexander, Georgia to the late Charlie and Mamie Hil- ton Philpot.

Etroy accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Springfield Baptist Church under the leadership of the late pastor, Reverend Boyd.

He retired from President Bakery after 30 years of service. He also was a foster parent at Gracewood State School and Hospital for 5 years.

Mr. Philpot was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Voicy Lee Philpot, daughter, Eloise Philpot, brothers and sisters.

Survivors are one daughter, Cassandra (Micheal) Beck; sons, Etroy Philpot, Jr., Alphonza Philpot and Maurice Philpot; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Public viewing will Friday, August 19, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the mortuary.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 1:00 pm at New Springfield Baptist Church, 1996 Hatcher Mill Road, Waynesboro, Georgia 30830.

The remains will lie in state at the church from 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

All CDC, social distancing, face covering guidelines will be observed.
