Gordy was born August 25, 1940 in Decatur, TX to Glen and Imogene (Ray) Lynch. He attended school in Forestburg, and graduated in 1958. While in school Gordy worked with his father, and had time to learn a lot from him. But after Glen passed away, Gordy and his mother Imogene worked long and hard to continue the family cattle business as Glen had done. He worked throughout his life as a rancher, truck driver, and businessman.

Gordy was a family man, he loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grands so dearly, and of course the love of his life Denna, who he married on July 15, 1978 in Forestburg. He was a longtime member of the Forestburg Baptist Church, and prominent member of the community. Gordy took pride in where he grew up and felt privileged to help out in any way he could. Some of the contributions include providing the watermelons each year for the Annual Watermelon Festival, rounding up items to be donated for the Volunteer Fire Department auctions, Board member of the New Harp Cemetery Association, and many donations throughout the years to insure every Forestburg student did receive a Christmas gift. Gordy will be missed by so many of those that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife Denna Lynch, parents Glen and Imogene Lynch, sister Peggy Gene Lynch, and great-granddaughter Evany Barragan.

Gordy is survived by his daughters Melody Lynch Hamilton, Keela Lynch, Kellie Alker and husband Jeff, and Kerri Hudson and husband Kenny; 11 grandchildren, Jordan Alker, Jansen Alker, Skyler Fluitt, Kyler Fluitt, Shayde Fluitt, Jesi Ramsey, Sami Moore, Felecia Pigg, Frankie Pigg, Robert Hudson and Hanna Hudson; 13 great-grandchildren; brother Doyle Ray Lynch and wife Virginia; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Gordy to the Forestburg Volunteer Fire Department at 261 Gainesville St. Forestburg, TX 76239 or the New Harp Cemetery Association in care of Olita Lanier 745 Lanier Rd. Forestburg, TX 76239.

Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.
