Obituary For Washington Warren, Jr.

Mr. Washington Warren, Jr., affectonately known as "Dea", 85 of Ft. Mitchell, AL passed Monday, August 15, 2022 in Ft. Mitchell, AL.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Monday, August 22, 2022 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Frederick Small, officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 12-5 p.m. EST.

Mr. Washington Warren, Jr. was born January 15, 1937 in Suffolk, VA to the late Washington Warren, Sr. and the late Lillian Warren.

He accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Antioch Baptist Church in Ft. Mitchell, AL where he served as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Head of the College Fund Board. Mr. Warren served 10 years in the United States Army. on October 3, 1966 he married the love of his life, Rosie Ford and shared 55 years together.

Mr. Warren was a man of character, integrity, goodness, patience and love. He was always a positive force in the lives of everyone who knew him. A wonderful, loving husband and father, provider and protecter. His presence will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard Warren and Edward Warren.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie Warren; five children, Richard Warren of Seattle, Washington, Laverne Bennett (Lonnie) of Phenix City, AL, Brenda Warren of Ft. Mitchell, AL, Stephanie Smith (Lanorris) of Columbus, GA and Jenist Smith of Ft. Mitchell, AL; two brothers, George Warren of Syracuse, NY and Wilbert Warren of Richmond, VA; two sisters-in-law, Betty Holloway of Phenix City, AL and Ruby Warren of North Carolina; god daughter/niece, Linda Nickerson (Douglas); 10 grandchildren, Domonique, Tyrell (Sequoia), Makayla, Lanorris (Debbie), Bruce, Tevon, Janyah, Jahquon, Stephen and Sa'Nai; five great grandchildren, Jason, Noah, Bryson, Eljay, Mackenzie and Skylar and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Warren when he operated the store in Phenix City & spent some lunchtimes there talking with him. Later on Jenist became apart of our family & that to was a blessing.
