Elizabeth was a graduate of Carver High School. She attended South Carolina State University.
Mrs. McKinney was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church since a young age.
She was a member of Tamin Court #122 D. O. I. and The Black Elegance Social Club.
Elizabeth retired from AT&T.
In addition to her husband, Vernon, she is survived by: her daughter, Francina Patrice Whitmire (Mark) of Spartanburg, SC; her three grandchildren reared in the home, Destin Rookard, Destiny Rookard and Nicholas Lyles; her granddaughter reared in the home, Little Miss Kahlee McClintock; her step-grandchildren, Amanda McKinney, Tina Doggett, Sylvia Doggett, Tory Carson and Christopher Clark; her five step-grandchildren; her seven step-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Mrs. Marilyn Smith of Spartanburg, SC and Mrs. Norma (Eddie) Moss of Decatur, GA; her brothers, George Nichols, Jr., Herbert Nichols both of Spartanburg, SC and Charles Nichols of CA; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary McKinney Oglesby of Chesnee, SC; her sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jackie McKinney, Mrs. Kay (Lawrence) Smith and Mrs. Barbara (Carl) Dunn of Chesnee, SC and Mrs. Sylvia Nichols of Spartanburg, Sc; and her brothers-in-law, Heyward McKinney of Chesnee, SC, Ruben (Verdal) McKinney of Oxford, AL and Bobby (Maxine) of Mauldin, SC.
She was preceded in death by: two brothers, Frank Nichols, Jr. and Dallas Nichols.
A Celebration of the Life of Elizabeth Anne McKinney will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 502 S. Daniel Morgan Ave., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church St., Roebuck, SC. Livestream will be available via Facebook on the TEEFERGUSONREPORT.
Visitation and The Daughter's Rites will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 6:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC.
