Ethel Mae McCormick, affectionately known as “Pruney”, was born July 17, 1958, in Ashburn, Georgia to the late Ms. Helen Edwards and Mr. Roosevelt McCormick. Ethel Mae was a free spirited, lively person who packed a lot of action in her small frame. She loved Pastor Larry Coffee and Sis. Kaye Coffee, and enjoyed the times she spent at Madison Avenue Church of God by Faith. Ethel Mae was called home to rest on August 19, 2022, at Augusta University Medical Center, in Augusta, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Gaskins, Willie B. and Helen Edwards, sisters, Dora Mae Martin, Pamela Edwards Boggs, brother, Randy Edwards, and nephew, Joe Bradshaw, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Danyello Carithers of Nicholls, Georgia, Latez (Doris) McCormick of Valdosta, Georgia, and Locobi (Maria) McCormick of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Carletto Lane, Dajordain McCormick, both of Ashburn, Georgia, Kierra Norris, Kalera Norris, Jeremiah Hillmon, all of Tifton, Georgia, Diante Solomon, Phillip Hill, Jade Chaplin, all of Jacksonville, Florida; great grands, Cay’Loni Lane of Ashburn, Georgia, Zechariah Norris of Tifton Georgia; sisters, Linda Gaskins, Monica Edwards, Michelle Vail, all of Ashburn, Georgia, Patricia (Jerry) Copeland of Tifton, Georgia, Carla (Hiriam) Williams, Beverly Clark, both of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Charles Edwards, Willie James (Marva) Edwards, both of Ashburn, Georgia, Antonio Gaskins of Albany, Georgia, Melvin (Elesia) Edwards of Perry, Georgia, Kenneth (Yolanda) Edwards of Fitzgerald, Georgia, Timothy (Angela) Edwards of St. Augustine, Florida, Steven (Debra) Edwards of Harker Heights, Texas, Clarence Vail of Graniteville, South Carolina, Wayne Davis of Savannah, Georgia, Michael Davis of Atlanta, Georgia, David Edwards of Spokane, Washington, Ricky (Angela) Edwards, Larry (Tee) Edwards, both of Tampa, Florida; a devoted friend, Curtis Baker of Ashburn, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
