Obituary For Mrs. Georgia Mae Hampton

Mrs. Georgia Mae Hampton was born in Hughes, Arkansas August 23, 1936 to Jessie and Rona V. Wilson. She was added to the Church of Christ family at Southside under the leadership of Brother Ben T. Adams and remained a faithful member until her death. On October 26, 1951, Georgia and Arthur James Hampton were united in marriage at Twin Bridges, later the family moved to Blytheville, Arkansas. She was employed by Dr. Ronald D. Smith, she loved the family and enjoyed taking care of Ron, Jr., and Ferrell. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Rona V. Wilson, her loving husband, Arthur James Hampton, two brothers, Ivory Wilson and Willie Wilson, six sisters, Notre Jones, Taletha Wilson, Ruthie Banks, Vera Patterson, Alberta Miller and Justine Wilson, a son, Lee Arthur Hampton and a great grandson, Jayden Hampton. On Sunday, August 21, 2022 she passed away at Heritage Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 85, just days before her 86th birthday. She leaves to cherish precious memories two sons, Eugene Hampton of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and Elston Hampton of Memphis, Tennessee; one daughter, Vera (Henry) Lucas of Blytheville, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Richard (Jada) Hampton of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Karla Robinson of Gosnell, Arkansas; Regina Hampton of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Sheena Hampton, Shannon Hampton both of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Kristen Lucas of Memphis, Tennessee; and Henry (Angel) Lucas of Conway, Arkansas; five great grandchildren, a sister in law, Willie Mae “Bit” Allison of Chicago, Illinois, nieces, nephews, her Southside Church of Christ family, and many friends. Visitation will be held Friday, August 26, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 in the chapel of McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, 1207 South Division Street, Blytheville, Arkansas. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Brother Jesse Webb will deliver the eulogy.
