A celebration of life honoring Ms. Edna Rose Davis Morris of Los Angeles, CA, 88, sadly will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Cropwell. Pastor Cameron Thomas will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Ms. Morris will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. At the family's request, there will not be a public visitation.

Edna Rose Davis Morris was born January 8, 1934, to the union of Lonnie Frank Davis and Willie Beatrice Chatfield Davis in Pell City, Alabama. Born the third of five sisters, she would go on to finish high school at St. Clair County Training School. Edna was a proud alumna of Alabama A&M University where she would receive her undergraduate degree. She would later receive her Master's degree from the University of Southern California.

Edna was both a world traveler and lifelong educator. She began her teaching career with the St. Clair County School System. She would later teach in Chicago, Illinois before spending 33 years teaching in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She took great pride in reuniting with her former students and celebrating their achievements.

Edna leaves to mourn: her sister, Lydia Davis (JT) Carter of Pell City, Alabama; her nieces, Cynthia Lloyd of Houston, Texas, Barbara Davis of Daytona Beach, Florida, Velma Lloyd of Houston, Texas and Dorcas L. Carter of Houston, Texas; her nephews, Craig Lloyd of Daytona Beach, Florida and Deryl Carter of Pell City, Alabama. Recognition is also given to her longtime companion, Sam Lowe of Los Angeles, California. A host of other family members, former students and friends will miss her dearly.
