Mrs. Giles, who passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Arbor Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born August 12, 1931 in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required). Mrs. Giles will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three devoted daughters, Vernechia (Frank) Menifee, Valarie (Donald) Cannon of Auburn, AL and Venus (Thaddeus) Jones of Opelika, AL; three caring sons, Jasper (Ruby) Giles of Opelika, AL, Michael (Dianne Randall) Giles of Syracuse, NY and Mitchell Giles of Auburn, AL; two goddaughters, Daphne Cannon of Columbus, GA and Maggie (Richard) Nelms of Auburn, AL; godson, Marvin Hill, Jr. of Syracuse, NY; one sister, Selena (JD) Bass of Auburn, AL; one brother, John Elbert Stinson of Columbus, GA; adopted daughter, Dorothy (Charlie) Core of Auburn, AL; son-in-law, James Battle of Notasulga, AL; eighteen grandchildren, Georgia Bass, Shannon France, John Neal Giles, Kevin Kindred, Kenya Spencer, Jasper Giles Jr., Alexis Giles, Demetrius Giles, Nakisha Giles, Antonio Monte’ Giles, Teneka Cannon, Brenda Harris, Rotanvia Ross, Raven Jones, Jennifer Mack, Emmberle Thomas, Morgan Giles, and Paige Giles; three god-grandchildren, DaMonica Cannon, Jacqueri Cannon and Marla Hill; twenty-one great-grandchildren; a host of special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
