James Edward Battle, "JB", 65, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Hunter-Odom Funeral Service, 121 S. Fairview Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27801 with Pastor Oliver Alston, III, officiating and Bishop Hattie Alston, Eulogist. Burial will follow at Gardens of Gethsemane.

Visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

I SPOKE FIRST, "HE SAID, I ALMOST DIDN'T RECOGNIZE YOU WITH THAT MASK 😷 ON. I'M GLAD YOU ARE BEING SAFE. YOU LOOK GOOD AND GOOD SEEING YOU." OF COURSE WE TALKED FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE HE LEFT AND I WENT INSIDE THE STORE. I'M GLAD GOD CROSSED OUR PATHS ON THAT DAY. POO POO WAS ALWAYS A GOOD DOWN TO EARTH FRIEND TO THE COMMUNITY.
