Obituary For Naanungau Griffin Daniels

Mrs. Naanungau Griffin Daniels was called to her eternal rest Saturday, September 3, 2022 at South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta GA. Born December 15, 1948 to the late Doris Griffin Hooper and the Late George E. Young, with special recognition to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie and Everlina Griffin who contributed largely to her upbringing.

Naanungau known to some as Buckey, Buck, Na and NaNa was a graduate of Washington Street High School, (Quitman GA), class of 1967. She furthered her education at Valdosta Technical School. Realizing the value of work at a young age, she relocated to Miami, Florida where she worked a variety of jobs until she landed the position of secretary to the principal in the Miami/Dade County public school system at Holmes Elementary School from which she retired.

At a young age, she joined Rocky MT Zuma A.M.E. Church of Barney, GA. Upon relocating to Miami, she moved her membership to an affiliated A.M.E. church where she served faithfully until she relocated to Adel, GA and reconnected to Rocky MT Zion (Zuma) A.M.E. Church.

Miss Naanungau Griffin was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Ernest Daniels

She is preceded in death by: her husband, Ernest Daniels, Brothers, Herbert (Chuck) Griffin, John Hooper and Lewis Hooper, Grandparents, Brother-In-Law, Jimmy Reaves, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Sisters, Carol Reaves of S, Daytona Beach, FL and Juanita Hooper of New Brunswick, NJ, Sister-in-law, Carolyn Griffin of Evansville, IN, Uncles, Burton Griffin and Willie Thomas of Barney, GA. A very Special and longtime friend, Mrs. Ola M. Baker of Soperton, GA, God Daughter, Heather Hayes of Edgewood, MD, Her Boo, Kyree Shepard of Barney, GA and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great/Great-Great Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, Friends and Classmates.

The family would like extend a special thank you to her caregivers Shirley Lynch and Mary Zarco.

Public Viewing: Friday, September 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM in the BTW Funeral Services Chapel.

Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Naanungau Griffin Daniels will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the BTW Funeral Services Chapel, Quitman, GA. Burial: North End Cemetery.
