She was preceded in death by: her husband, Anthony E. Tolliver, Jr.; one son, Tyrone Tolliver; three sisters, Carrie Pearl Floyd, Mable Woody and Annie Maude McJimpsey; and two brothers, Roy L. Wingo, Jr. and Charles Wingo.
At an early age she joined First African American Methodist Church which became First Worship Church where she served diligently and faithfully as the "Mother" of the church, and member of the Usher Board, Church Choir, The Willing Workers, and Stewardess Board as a faithful member until declining health began to slow her steps.
She was a member of Carver High School, Class of 1944 where she served as class treasurer for many years.
For many years she worked in food services in the offices of Mr. Hardee and Mr. Richardson. In her later years she was employed at the Buffeteria for the Richey Family.
Left to cherish loving memories are: her daughter, Gloria Jean Tolliver of Spartanburg, SC; her sister, Willie Green; her brother, Theodore Jesse Wingo; her four grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A Celebration of the Life of Ruby Lee Wingo Tolliver will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at First Worship Church, 504 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S. Church St., Roebuck, SC.
