Mr. Charles Green was born July 5, 1954 in Ashburn, Georgia to the late Mrs. Queen Esther Vail Gaskins and the late Mr. Willie Lee Green, Sr. He was the “baby of the bunch” out of six children.
Charles was educated in the Turner County Public School System and attended Eureka High School. He worked with Utilco out of Tifton, Georgia for many years, and he also did farm work.
Charles decided to change his life over to God and joined the Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia. Charles was very known around Ashburn, Georgia, and made friends wherever he went.
On September 14, 2022, God called Charles Green, affectionately known by family and friends as “Pit”, home to Eternal Rest. His parents, his sisters, Betty Osby, Rosie Lee McGriff, Julia Mae Nesmith, and a brother, Willie Lee Green, Jr., have all preceded him in death. Although Charles will truly be missed, family and friends are at peace knowing that he is now at rest from pain and suffering. He was loved deeply by everyone, but God loved him more.
Charles leaves to cherish his memories a sister, Jannie Green of Ashburn, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
