Ernestine Marie Floyd-Williams was born February 13, 1921, to Deliau Starnes Floyd and Robert Lee Floyd Sr. in Gastonia, North Carolina.
Ernestine was a graduate of Lincoln Academy in Gastonia, North Carolina and attended North Carolina A&T State University. From 1943-1946 she was enlisted in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps. Ernestine was employed at Gaston Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse Aid. She later worked in Textile. Ernestine was a member of Trinity AME Zion Church as her home church. She later became a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Ernestine's hobbies included fishing and traveling. She was known for her love of gardening. Ernestine's favorite trip was to Jerusalem to visit the Holy Land. Ernestine was the happiest at spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Ray Williams Sr., son, Arthur Ray Williams Jr., brothers, Robert Lee Floyd Jr., Euless Ray Floyd, and Alton Herbert Floyd.
She leaves to cherish memories to her daughters, Audrey (Daniel) Tipton and Althea (Denan) Williams-Wilson; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephews also to survive her: Kanies Hill, Brenda Carroll, Sherry Williams, and Jerry Floyd Sr. and other relatives and friends.

Funeral on Saturday; September 17, 2022 at Trinity Unity AME Zion Church, Gastonia at 1:00 with thirty minute visitation at the church
Interment: Trinity Unity Church Cemetery
