On Saturday, September 17, 2022, John P. Holland, Sr., 67 of Harris Dr., Martinsville, VA transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at Chippenham Hospital, Richmond, VA. Born July 1, 1955, in Martinsville, VA he was the son of the late John Henry Holland, and the late Nannie K. Flood Holland.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by one sister, Memphis Manns, and his brother, Henry Holland.

John was a member of Agape Bible Christian Fellowship Church, and he retired from Warren Trucking Co. for many years before his health began to decline.

Those left to cherish his memory include: one son, John P. Holland, Jr. of Martinsville, VA; one daughter, LaShara Adkins of Greensboro, NC; god daughter, Rhona Carter of Gloucester, VA; two sisters, Joan Martin (Raymond) of Columbia, SC, and Elizabeth Witcher of Severn, MD; three brothers, Benjamin Holland (Brenda) of Axton, VA, Frank Holland (Tamayra) and Samuel Holland (Theresa) both of Martinsville, VA; special friend and fiancee’, Vanessa Fauntleroy of Bedford, VA; and a host of other relatives, and friends.

A visitation services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Dr. C. Lee Hagwood, Sr., Eulogist. Burial will be private. Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Tamayra Holland, 1050 Carver Rd., Martinsville, VA.
