Mr. Robert Jones, 73, of Los Angeles, CA formerly of Phenix City, AL passed Thursday, September 15, 2022 in Los Angeles, CA.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, October 1, 2022 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church (Old Cemetery).Visitation will be Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. EST.

Robert Jones was born on August 22, 1949, in Phenix City (Crawford Community), Alabama. He went home to be with the Lord, September 15, 2022. He was one of eight children to the late Itson and Margaret Jones and was preceded in death by two sisters, Joann Thomas and Freddie Mae Jones-Drake.

He attended Sanford High School in Seale, Alabama. “Tip”, “Lil Fella” as he was so affectionately called loved to laugh and lived to be happy. “Tip” loved to be in the presence of his family and had a love for the Dallas Cowboys Football Team. “Lil Fella” worked at various factories throughout the City of Atlanta alongside his dedicated friend for life Eddie “Ed Lewis” Betties.

In 1971 he met and married, Inez Kelly and had two daughters, Tywana “Tubutt” Jones and Lathesia “Whoop” Jones-Booker. From this union he gained bonus children, Ronald “Monk” and Beverly “Nay”.

In 2005, “Lil Fella” took a journey to Southern California where he fell in love with the weather and beaches and decided to make it home. He lived in California until his transition and was surrounded by his friend for life, Inez Durham and his loving daughter, Beverly Kelly. He was content with his life, lived care-free and had no regrets.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving “Friend for Life”, Inez Durham; three daughters, Beverly Kelly of Compton, California, Tywana Jones of Ellenwood, Georgia, Lathesia Jones-Booker of Los Angeles, California; five siblings, Edward (Lois) Jones of Detroit, Michigan, Dexter Jones of Phenix City, Alabama, Glenda Sutton of Columbus, Georgia, Patsy (John) King of Colonial Heights, Virginia and Juliet (Jimmy) Walker of Columbus Georgia; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
