Obituary For Deacon Willie James Sutton Sr.

Deacon Willie James Sutton Sr. 87, of Unadilla GA entered into eternal rest on Sunday September 18, 2022.

Funeral Services for Deacon Willie James Sutton, Sr. 87, of Unadilla GA will be Saturday September 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Bethel Baptist Church Unadilla, GA. Interment New Bethel Cross Road Cemetery, Unadilla GA.

Public Visitation will be held Friday September 23, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

M r. Wil lie James Sut ton, Sr., was born September 27, 1934, in Unadilla, Dooly County, Georgia, to the parentage of the late Deacon B.D. Sutton and the late Sister Daisy Kendrick Sutton. He answered the call of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 18, 2022, in the Perry Hospice Hospital of Perry, Georgia, after a brief illness. At an early age he joined the New Bethel Baptist Church of Unadilla, Georgia. He was a very active member from childhood through his adult life. He served as a deacon, chairman, and president of the usher board. He also served on the cancer, crusa. He served faithfully until his health failed. He attended school, but had to stop and help his family. He worked as a custodian where he woul meet the love of his life. Later, he worked at the All-State Truck Stop, Pinehurst Equipment Company, did farm work for Jackie Busby, and later retired from the County Road Department. He was joined in holy matrimony on August 3, 1963, to Mary Breedlove at New Bethel Baptist Church, where she later moved her membership. He lived a full life. He loved New Bethel Baptist Church. He has helped raise, disciple, and been there for so many people. He was never a stranger to anyone. He loved people and especially kids. He loved his family dearly and was loved and respected by many. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Will Sutton and Ruben Sutton; and three sisters, Viola Lawson, Sarah Barnes, and Margaret Fluellen. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: a loving wife of fiftynine years, Mrs. Mary Breedlove Sutton; four children, Ms. Samantha S. Harris of Unadilla, Georgia, Mr. Willie J. Sutton, Jr., of Atlanta, Georgia, Elder Troy J. Sutton (Wanda L.) of Chester, Virginia, and Mr. Delvecchio Sutton, Sr. (Melissa), of Unadilla, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Rakeemion (Selena) Harris, Tacora Jackson, Shamaya (Dequincey) Bennett, Joshua M. Sutton, Ashlyn B. Sutton, Delvecchio Sutton, Jr., Shaheem Sutton, Jordan Sutton, and Riannya Sutton; four great-grandchildren, Kymberlynn Harris, Savannah Harris, Tayler Harris, and Kyler Harris; one brother, Otis Sutton of Ohio; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing and beloved friends.
