Obituary For Delois Welch Roberts

Delois Roberts, 73, of Philadelphia, Mississippi passed on Monday, September 19, 2022 from her residence in Neshoba County, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 24, 2022 from Goodway M.B. Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Burial will follow in the Henderson Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Preston, Mississippi. Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. - 10:50 A.M. Saturday, September 24, 2022 from Goodway M.B. Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia is in charge of all arrangements.

Mrs. Delois Welch was preceded in death by her father, Nace Welch, Jr., her younger sister, Belinda Welch, and an unnamed baby sister. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband of 48 years, Raymond; her mother, Janie; her sister, Kathy ( Albert); her brother Lavern; six children, Arrenthea ( Robert), Randy (Toni), Orlenthea Sheraine ( Bruce), Tremayne (Sharene), Keisha, and Ashley. sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

My condolences to the Robert's Family. My heart is heavy, but the memories that I have of the conversations I had with Ms. Delois. I still have the book she sent me. I've read that book so many times. When I got diagnosed with breast cancer, I didn't know anyone who had cancer to relate to. But God!!! He sent an angel my way. So I thank God for her in so many ways. I love you all, Ashley, Tremayne, Mr. Robert's, all of you. My heart and prayers are with you. Ride high Ms. Delois Roberts...I know you are at peace in the arms of God!!

I teared up when I heard of Delois Roberts passing. She was a teaching colleague of mine at Philly Elementary. She was a teacher that I often went to for advice. I enjoyed teaching her children as well. I smile when I think of Mrs. Roberts and our years together at PES.
