I met Bernice in 1997 when I moved from Connecticut. We sat on the same seat on the mother board side by side. Well-dressed lady gloves and everything matching. If you ever went shopping with her you know why. A sweet spoken person she and her husband. She could make the best yams in the world. Just another soldier who gained her wings, praying we meet one day. Praying for her husband, children. grandchildren and family. Much Love, Queen Adams and Family

To Uncle Jessie, (the coolest Uncle EVER) Jessica, Derrick, and the grandchildren, sorry to hear that Aunt Bernice has passed away. She has now joined Papa & Momma Dortch along with her other siblings in heaven. She will be missed by us all. There are no words of sorrow to ease the pain that you are each going through in your own ways. Uncle Jessie, I can't imagine what you are going through at this time, just know that the Lord is protecting you. Jessica and Derrick, I know what you are going through and just how you are feeling. It will never get easier, but it will get DOABLE. To the grandchildren, just continue to remember her smile every time she saw your faces and the warm hugs and kisses that she gave you when you left. To all of you, Aunt Bernice Loved each of you very much, you were all her world. Remember this if nothing else, "She's not gone, She is just away... Keep Her in your Hearts, She is There to STAY". Our first memory and meeting Deacon Jesse and Mother Bernice was when we united with Mt. Olive MBC 32 years ago after we moved here from MD. We fondly remember Mother Bernice at church where she always met you with a warm smile and a kind word. A very kindhearted, humble Mother on the Board, an Usher working diligently in the Usher Ministry carrying out her duties in a quite unassuming matter, but in faith to please God! Our Heavenly Father wanted a flower for His garden so He decided to picked Bernice. Rest In Peace, Bernice, looking to see you again! May God's grace and mercy rest upon each member of the family during this season of sorrow and beyond for the days ahead. We pray for the loving peace of God that surpasses all understanding rest with you now and forever. With πŸ’œ and πŸ™πŸ½ Always! In His Love, Charlie & Martha Jones
