Affectionately known to friends and family by “Bud” and “Bo John,” John was self-employed for over 30 years at “John’s Auto & Trim.” He was also employed at Woodmark Furniture and PP&G in Lexington, NC. John hobbies included listening to the blues, fast cars, and motorcycles. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and cousin. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.
He leaves to cherish precious memories, his loving wife, Toby L. Thomas of the home; his children, DeWayne Thomas, Rodney Thomas, Erika (Onzlo) Isaac, and Leslie (Jarvis) George; his grandchildren, DeLeon, Ariyan, Rodney Jr., Kaleb, and Jalyn; one great-grandson, Sa’Navi Chance Thomas; his siblings, Carrie Brown of High Point, NC, Deborah Lomax, Maggie Jones, Diane Fisher, Vanessa Golden, Evangelist Brenda (Curtis) Williams, and Johnny Fisher, all of South Carolina; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Silda (Tony) Randleman; sister-in-law, Cynthia Thomas; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.
