Sarah J. James was born October 11, 1947, in Mt. Holly, NC. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, September 25, 2022. She was the daughter of the late John L. Bradley and Mary K. Bradley.

She was a member of Living Witness Ministries Refugee Church and a graduate of Reid High School in Belmont, NC. In her earlier years, she dedicated her time working in the field of childcare and later provided care as an aide in nursing homes. Sarah enjoyed cooking and baking, especially her German Chocolate cakes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wylie James Jr, her parents, John L. Bradley and mother, Mary K. Bradley, and her two brothers, Hughie King and Jerome Bradley.

She leaves behind her daughters Stephanie D. Reid of Gastonia and Carla Bradley of Gastonia. Four sons, Dexter Bradley (Mary Mitchell Bradley) of Gastonia, NC, Wylie Steven James, III of Gastonia, NC, Michael James of Burlington, NC, and Mitchell James of Gastonia, NC; three brothers, Glenn Bradley (Katherine Bradley) of Gastonia, NC, David Bradley of Charlotte, NC, and Dwight Bradley (Danetta Bradley) of Mount Holly, NC; two sisters, Mary C. Bradley of New York and Victoria Walker (William Walker) of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, and nephews and one aunt; other relatives and friends.

Viewing at the funeral home on Friday; October 7, 2022 from 4 until 7

Funeral on Saturday; October 8, 2022 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Mt. Holly at 3:00 with thirty minute visitation before the service

Interment: Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia
