Calgene Jones was born on August 24th, 1938; in Fort Pierce Florida to the late Arch Jones and Victoria Oneal. She was raised by her stepmother Wordis Jones. She departed from this life peacefully in her sleep on September 17th, 2022.

Calgene worked for the Minute Maid Company as a laborer for a number of years. She was hard-working, independent, and very private. She enjoyed spending time with family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and would always lend a helping hand in caring for them.

She was predeceased by her sons Jerome Herbert Jones, Sylvester Lee Jones, and Ernest Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Two children, Connie Barnes Truesdell (Paul) and Earl Jones (Lorae). One sister Ella Mcphee. Two grandchildren Kenneth Tawayne Gordon (Lisa) and Gabrielle Jones, five great grandchildren and three great- great grandchildren. One nephew Oliver D. Johnson and one dear friend Lillian along with a host of other relatives and friends.
