Obituary For Rev. Dr. Bruce D. Wright

Rev. Dr. Bruce Deberial Wright was born on June 11, 1961 in Ft. Pierce, FL to Estes, Jr. and Doris Wright. Bruce was a loving husband, son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, fisherman, minister, mentor, advocate, hard worker, and friend to all he met.

Bruce was a graduate from Fort Pierce Central High School Class of 1979. Bruce furthered his education in ministry learning, teaching, and preaching earning a Master’s Degree from Greater Commission Bible School in Bowling Green, KY and a Doctoral Degree from Jehovah Jireh Bible Institute in Alexander City, AL. In search of more light, Bruce found it when he became a Master Mason at Fort Pierce Lodge #155.

Bruce confessed his belief in Christ at an early age at Church Of God By Faith in Fort Pierce, FL under the leadership of the late Elder John Robinson, Jr. After relocating to Atlanta, Bruce united with Welcome Friend Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA under pastoral guidance of Rev. Dr. John H. Smith, Sr. where he served as an Associate Minister. At the church he also served with the Missionary Department, Prison Ministry, and sang with the Male Chorus.

Bruce met and married the love of his life, Rosa Rollerson on August 15, 1981 and to this union three loving sons were born: NeGuerian, Bruce, Jr. and Marcus.

Bruce served as a board member for the Jehovah Jireh Bible Institute of higher learning. As you know, Bruce could fix EVERYTHING which birth his name of "Uncle Bruce."

Uncle Bruce was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father: Estes Wright, Jr.; brother: Estes Wright, III; sister: Sandral Demeris Wright Chambers.

Uncle Bruce leaves to cherish his memories his soulmate: Rosa Wright; three sons: NeGuerian Wright of Stockbridge, GA, Bruce Wright, Jr., (Monique) of Las Vegas, NV, Marcus Wright (Michelle) of Stockbridge, GA; his loving mother: Doris Wright of Jonesboro, GA; brother: Kerry Wright of Jonesboro, GA; brothers-in-laws: Joseph Rollerson (Rachel) of Fort Pierce, FL and James Earl Chambers, Sr. of Rex, GA; bonus children: Ashleigh Williams of Vero Beach, FL and Chris (Alyssa) Williams of Dallas, GA; grandchildren: Keiyanna Brown-Wright, Aaliyah Wright, Angel, Janessa Aleman (Axel), Jeremiah Walton; nieces: Charnetta and Doris Washington; nephews: Estes Washington, Sr., Joseph Rollerson, Jr., and Geremy Rollerson; uncles: Clarence Wright (Gladys), A. Ronald Hudson (Jackie), Eddie Hudson; aunts: Nicey Williams, Emma Lee Hudson, Elizabeth Hamilton, Alberta Anderson; god sister: Octavia Clark-Little; god brother: George Wright; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Public visitation for Rev. Dr. Bruce Wright will take place on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. A Homegoing Celebration will convene on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 13th Street Church of God, Greater Faith in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will immediately follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID-19 have been relaxed, we at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff.
