Elder Eugene Thomas Dennard was born in Tifton, Georgia, on December 6, 1944, to the late Johnny Lee Dennard, Sr., and Alice Mae Davis Dennard. He transitioned peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2022. He leaves to cherish his legacy: his loving and devoted “Georgia Peach” of twenty-five years, Dora Griffin Dennard; caring stepchildren, Stacey Morgan, Patrina Boone, Sharon (Edward) Williams, Richard (Tamika) Jenkins, and Cameron and Christopher Griffin; four godsons, Jacoby and Ja’Bioas Glenn, Jametavious Daniels, and Reginald Zanders; two fur daughters, Coco and Spot (his heart) (two preceded him in death, Luci and Brittany); nine siblings, Ossie Jean Smith, Mary Lee Ramsey, Louise Dennard Thomas, Graydean Johnson, Ralph Franklin Dennard, Larry (Joyce) Dennard, Johnny Lee Dennard, Jr., Curtis Ludden, Sr., and Ernest Lee Ludden (five preceded him in death, Delois Cornelius, Claude Ludden, Charlie Wright Ludden, Charles Dennard, Sr., and Ernest Dennard, Sr.; five sisters-in-law, Mary Kingdom, Etheron Dennard, Bobbie Jean King (Albert), Ethel Ross, and Sarah Sutton; two brothers-in-law, Elder Roosevelt Kingdom, Sr. (Rhoda), and Sammie Lee Kingdom. He attended Holsey Cobb Institute in Cordele, Georgia. He joined the beautiful Zion Baptist Church in Cordele at an early age. His faith and love of God led him to become the founder of the House of Prayer Holiness Church in Cordele, Georgia. He was also a poet, an Air Force veteran, and entrepreneur. His entrepreneurship included Dennard’s Janitorial Services, Dennard’s Lawn Services, and Dennard’s Exchange Marts (used furniture stores). Elder Dennard has blessed many with his talent. He was a great historian and Biblical scholar. He had his own ministry at the end of his driveway, where he sat daily and taught the Bible to passersby. There’s not a chapter in the Bible that he hasn’t studied. If he is studying his Bible, he doesn’t eat or take phone calls (not even from Mary). His time with God was private with no interruptions

Uncle Eugene was a gentle giant of a man. The first time I heard the word "masticating" was when I was in college. He came into the house and said, "I can tell everyone is masticating." No one knew what that word meant, including me the college student. It was hillarious. I will never forget his command of the English Language. Rest in Power.
