Mr. William Henry Ellerby, Sr. was born on July 19, 1957, to the late Mrs. Lucy Bell Miller Ellerby and the late Mr. Earnest Ellerby in Pike County, GA. He was educated in the Lamar County School System and graduated with the Lamar County Comprehensive High School Class of 1975. At an early age, William joined the Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Barnesville, GA. He would later become a member of the Mount Sinai CME Church in Milner, GA, where he served as an Usher. He enjoyed working in the church and serving the Lord. Before graduating high school, William became employed with Aldora Mills/Continental Tires. He was a dedicated employee, serving there for forty-seven years as a Hot Stretch Operator before his retirement in 2021. He was united in holy matrimony to Ms. Patricia Banks Ellerby. During his leisure time, William enjoyed fishing, watching cooking shows and westerns movies. William was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Crawford Miller. On Monday, October 3, 2022, the Lord decided that William’s journey had come to an end. He departed his earthly life after an extended illness. William leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Mrs. Patricia Banks Ellerby of Barnesville, GA; three children, Mr. William H. Ellerby, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, and Ms. Allison Ellerby and Ms. Brittany Ellerby of Barnesville, GA; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; nine siblings, Mrs. Louise (Walter) McDowell of Locust Grove, GA, Ms. Clarice Miller, Ms. Earnestine Hansford, Mrs. Linda (Albert) Rutland, Ms. Geraldine Ellerby, Deacon Otis (Susan) Miller and Deacon Tommy (Gretchen) Ellerby all of Barnesville, GA, Minister Charles (Joyce) Ellerby of Atlanta, GA, and Mr. Gary (Robin) Ellerby of Jacksonville, FL; mother-in-law, Ms. Elizabeth Banks of Barnesville, GA; sisters-in-law, Ms. Charlene Howard and Ms. Angela Durham of Barnesville, GA; aunts, Ms. Ethel M. Ellerby, Ms. Dorothy Traylor and Ms. Frances Ellerby all of Barnesville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
