Jo Marie Tarpley-Cross, 84, of Bowie, TX, passed away Thursday, October 13th, 2022.

Graveside service will take place Monday, October 17th, at 2:00 p.m. at Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg, TX.

Family visitation will receive friends on Sunday, October 16th, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.

Jo was born on August 9, 1938 in Tulare, California to William and Ella Beverage. She married Billie Ray Tarpley on August 14, 1955 in Marietta, Oklahoma. Jo was a homemaker and raised four children, many dogs and one mean cat named Coors. Jo lived in west Texas, southern Oklahoma, and Saint Jo before settling in Bowie. She married James Richard Cross after her first husbands passing. Jo was an avid reader, enjoyed dancing, singing, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and one grandchild, Jamie Huber.

Jo is survived by her sons, Rick Tarpley and wife Kathy of Bowie, Gary Tarpley and partner Vickie of Sweetwater, and Terry Tarpley and partner Diane of Chico; daughter, Sherral Maxwell and husband Eric of Challis, ID; nine grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
