Tony O'Neil Daley
Passed 10/07/2022
Tony O’Neil Daley was called home by our Heavenly Father on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston, VA. Tony was born on July 24, 1952 to the late John Daley and Laura Daley Prather. He joined the New Liberty Baptist Church in Clarksville, VA at an early age. Tony received his formal education at Long Island City High in New York City where he completed the 11th grade. Afterward, Tony served in the Army and here he gained the rank of PFC (Private First Class). Tony was also a paratrooper in the military. He shared lots of stories of his days in service. He let everyone know that he took his job seriously for his country. He served it well. After his service days, Tony decided to move to Alexandria, VA and make his home there. He made up his mind to drive dump trucks and boy did he have a ball with that job. He wanted something different to do and he found it when he worked for the Fairfax County Maintenance Team in Fairfax, VA, where he retired and decided to start his own landscaping business that he loved more than anything before he had to retire from working altogether. Tony was an all time fan of the Dallas Cowboys. You couldn’t tell him anything about “dem boys” that he didn’t already know. He loved spending time with his family and friends and had a ball making them laugh. Tony was a happy person. He leaves cherishing memories to his wife; Sylvia Daley; six children, Marva McMurray, Timmagean McMurray (Toya), James Green, Jr. (Stacy), Rochell Daley (Wanda), Antonio Daley (Rae) and Latisha Daley; four sisters; Charlene Scott (Rayvon), Dianne Daigle (Gene), Rosalind Daley and Cecilia Prather; three brothers; John Dailey, Gerald Dailey, Robert Prather; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in- law, and other family and friends.
