Obituary of Dr. Carey W. Goodman

Dr. Carey W. Goodman was born January 21, 1950 and departed this life October 13, 2022.

Dr. Goodman was born in Fernandina Beach, Florida to Leon Goodman and Frances (Goodman) Patterson.

He graduated with honors from Peck High School and was awarded a full scholarship by ITT Rayonier. He completed his undergraduate studies at Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, Florida and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. Throughout Dr. Goodman’s medical career, he made several moves, serving as a dedicated physician. After his years of service to the community, Dr. and Mrs. Jill Goodman, decided to retire in Alabama. Dr. Goodman was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Goodman and Frances (Goodman) Patterson.

He leaves to cherish, a loving wife of 23 years, Jill P. Goodman; Two sons, Kenneth Goodman (Tennessee) and Carlton (Edora) Goodman (Georgia); Two stepsons, Andrew Moore of Alabama and Dwight Young of Florida; Two grandsons, Kenneth Goodman II and Anthony Goodman (Tennessee); Siblings, Logean (Elwood) Billups (Elwood) of Florida, Gail (Louis) Valsin (Louis), Rhonda Goodman and Vanessa Dorsey all of Texas; Jocelyn (Daryl) Faison, Cecil Goodman and Darrel Goodman, all of Florida; Sister-in-laws, Doris (Danny) Jones of Alabama, Annesse Watson and Sheila (William) Powell, both of Ohio; Brother-in-laws, Clarence Moore, Ronald (Louise) Moore, and Danny Moore, all of Alabama. Dr. Goodman was also loved by a host of relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, October 22, 2022. at West Gadsden Funeral Home (Betty D. Robinson) Chapel.
