Mr. Kenneth "Kenny" Williams

Mr. Kenneth Williams, age 79, of Greensboro, NC departed this life on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Wesley Long Hospital, Greensboro, NC. He was born on March 16, 1943, in Lilesville, NC, to the late Rosetta Williams and Kenzel Spencer.

Kenneth attended Anson County Public Schools. He later relocated to High Point, NC and married the late Mary Jackson. To that union, they were blessed with 4 children.

Kenneth was employed for 20 years with Gilbarco Veeder-Root from which he retired.

Kenneth later married Brenda Smith Williams to whom he left to cherish his memory. In 2002, Kenneth and Brenda worked together to bring DREAMS-A Drug Rehab Facility to a drug infested area of Greensboro, NC. Although met with closed fist and resistance, they were able to conquer all in the area and brought light and awareness to an area of darkness. The Williams (Kenneth and Brenda) became pillars of the community.

Kenneth was a proud member of the Black Panther Organization. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by is preceded in death by three brothers, J. Huston Williams, Charlie Williams, and Kenzel Spencer; mother-in-law, Lela Smith; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Little and Arwilla Dowell and one brother-in-law, Lacey Ingram.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Brenda Smith Williams of the home; one son, Kenneth Williams Jr. of High Point, NC; three daughters, Cynthia Williams of High Point, NC, Michelle (Eric) McCormick of Lexington, NC and Angela (Clayton) Love of Thomasville, NC; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Three stepsons, Charles Jackson, Sammy Jackson and Kenyatta Bennett; one stepdaughter, Barbara (Thomas) Leach. One sister, Lorraine Harris of Atlanta, GA, four brothers, Isaac Spencer of Baltimore, MD and Alexander Spencer of New York, Herman Rorie and Lester Rorie both of High Point, NC. Five sisters-in-law, Lucy Williams, Cindy Williams, Annie Ingram, Lillie Horne and Amanda Richardson; three brothers-in-law, Clifton (Bertha) Smith, Glenn Smith and Lewis Dowell. One aunt, Montisa S. Johnson; one uncle, Leroy Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, October 22, 2022, 12:00 noon, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of Piney Grove Church Of God, NC-109, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
