Mrs. Geiger passed away Monday, October 10, 2022, in Baltimore, MD.
Mary was much more than a devoted wife and mother. She was a community activist, educator and mentor. She had immense compassion and was always willing to lend assistance to those in need. She had a deep love for children and dedicated much of her life to caring and educating them. She operated a daycare facility and later worked educating children with special needs. She was driven to expanding the experiences of young people from the city and would organize annual bus trips for kids to visit recreational and amusement parks. Her dedication to teaching and mentoring young people spanned decades as a Cub/Boy Scout leader, educator and school board activist. She was also committed to keeping neighborhoods safe and created an organization focused on combating illegal drugs. She was well respected in the community and looked upon as a guiding force.
For over 25-years, Mary dedicated her life to educating and caring for students. This desire to contribute to growth also extended to her love for gardening. She had the ultimate “Green Thumb” as her home overflowed with plants and flowers. Her love and compassion was truly exemplified in her interactions with family. She deeply cherished sharing time with loved ones. She enjoyed gatherings and especially cooking her signature fried chicken, peach cobbler, biscuits and cheese macaroni. Her family always looked forward to their visits with Mom/Nana.
A woman of remarkable integrity, Mary was quite humble, selfless and lived a virtuous life. Attributes she instilled in her children. She was spiritual and forever followed God in her walk of life. While being a private person, she was a formidable force to reckon with. Her strength, grace and love are forever etched in our hearts.
