He attended the public schools of Montgomery County.
He was called early in life to Ministry where he touched so many lives. Due to his failing health, his faith got stronger and he never stopped his ministry until death. He lived his life to the fullest and will forever be cherished in the hearts of many.
He was employed by the McRae Industry of Mount Gilead, NC and the Foundry of Biscoe, NC.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Lynn Turner; daughter, Baby Turner; mother, Elizabeth Turner; father, Walter Turner; brother, Charles “Stink” Turner and grandson, Brandon Smith.
Roger leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to his loving wife, JoAnne Turner of Mt. Gilead, NC. His children, Vincent Horne (Roxanne) of Maryville, Tennessee, Tymesia Karimoune of Greensboro, NC, Ereka Turner of High Point, NC, Brandon Turner, Micah Turner and Joseph Turner all of Mt. Gilead, NC; fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Two brothers, Leon Turner (Dorsey) of Mt. Gilead and Rev. Bobby McRae (Robin) of Mt. Gilead, NC; special aunt, Catherine Steed. Five sisters-in-law, Rebecca Kirby, Peggy Smith, Betty Little, Debbie Turner and Dorsey Turner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special friends, Freddie Adams, James Russell and Rev. Steve Wilson.
The Homegoing Services will be on Friday, October 28, 2022, 2:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be private.
The Turner Family will greet family and friends on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 1:30-2:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel.
The public viewing for Mr. Turner will be on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 3:00-6:00pm at Smith's Funeral Home.
