Bennie Lue Eggleston Sr. always said he is not going until the good Lord gets ready for him and the good Lord was ready on October 25, 2022, at 12:06 am calling him home from SECU Hospice House of Johnston Health in Smithfield, North Carolina.

Bennie was born on March 20, 1928. He is preceded in death by his parents and six siblings: Mabel Walton, Alease Townsend, Gertrude Townsend, Marion Ferrell, Thelma Lee, and Mae Watson.

Bennie was a caring man with a smile and laugh that would light up the room. He drove log trucks for many years and traveled to many places, retiring at the age of 82. He always met a friend wherever he went he would always share his memories of growing up and driving log trucks with them.

He is survived by his sons: Elder Bennie Eggleston, Jr. (Cynthia), Paul Terry (Cynthia) one daughter Teresa Williams (Darrell), seven grandchildren, one great-grandson. four brothers; Johnny, Harold, Harvey (Mary Alice), and Deacon Herman Jr. (Claudette), and two sisters; Dorothy Fowlkes and Dr. Anges Taylor along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation: 4:00 - 6:00 pm Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Trice Funeral Home Chapel, 127 N. West Street in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526, masks are required in order to attend the visitation.

Funeral will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at New Bethel Baptist Church, 14167 Farmville Road in Meherrin, VA 23954.

Burial: Church Cemetery in Meherrin, VA
