Guest Book

I was honored to have worked with Ms. Maria for the last year and a half of her life. We spoke weekly (sometimes more than that) regarding trips she needed to take, as well as other life topics. She was a wonderful friend of mine, who always reminded me she loved me before we'd hang up, and always had a beautiful outlook, even when completely unable to figure out how to work a new phone, or how to call me! Once, her sweet daughter provided her with a new phone, and she was completely unsure how to use it, though she did tell me her daughter gave her multiple tutorials! She needed to schedule a doctor's appointment, but couldn't figure out how to make outgoing calls, she could only answer calls, and only if she happened to have the phone in hand when the call came through! So, one day I happened to call to check in, and Ms. Maria, as usual would say "I've been trying to reach you!" but when I'd ask if she'd called, she would tell me she didn't, she didn't know how! I'd say, "how were you trying to reach me then?" She would say "well, I meant I've been thinking of you!" Though frustrating at times, Ms. Maria would ALWAYS find a way to brighten my day. Her stories of the children she loved, and how much fun she had raising them were beautiful, and though we were on the phone, I could hear the memories and smile in her voice. I know she sure wished she could spend more time with them, to go back to "the old days". I will truly miss her, and wanted to wish the family peace, love, and hope they'll remember the good times, knowing how many Ms. Maria touched. I'll be keeping all of you in my prayers.
