During his childhood, Cecil was an active member of the Saint Mary AME Church, where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Cecil received his early education at Thomaston Training School, and like most men during his time, when he became of age, he began his employment journey. His first job was at Collins Grocery Store and later he found employment at Martha Mills and lastly at Woodbury Box Company. He was a hard, faithful, and dependable worker. Cecil was a very loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He was always there for his family and friends whenever there was a need. Cecil possessed a quite, loving spirit and was loved by all who knew him. During his early years, he enjoyed shooting pool at JB’S, traveling, working on cars and his family will always remember him with a smile on his face and a cigar in his mouth. On Friday, October 28, 2022, the Lord called Cecil home to eternal rest. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters, Mrs. Betty W. West of Columbus, GA and Mrs. JoAnne W. McKinney of Atlanta, GA; one aunt, Mrs. Minnie Worthy; two devoted friends, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Heath; and a devoted cousin, Ms. Kaylynn Worthy all of Thomaston, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
