Ms. Jennifer James

Ms. Jennifer James received the gift of life on July 28, 1978 in Panama City, Florida to the late Lonnie and Margarette James. She gained her wings on October 28th at home surrounded by her loving and caring family. She was 44 years of age.

Jennifer was a miracle child from birth. The doctors attempted to prepare the family with the report that she would not have much of a chance at life. After her birth, she was airlifted to Pensacola, Florida. She suffered with severe epileptic seizures. Jennifer began her life’s journey beating many obstacles, yet her greatest passion became loving her family and friends.

Jennifer was a lifelong member of Antioch Temple Church of God In Christ. She was a faithful member who actively ushered and led as a praise and worship leader. She loved to sing, as she always had a song in her heart.

Jennifer was educated in the public schools of Bay County School System and graduated in May 1997.

In addition to her parents, Jennifer was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy James and a sister, Betty James.

Jennifer leaves to cherish her memories , affectionately known with personal nick names; four sisters, Mary James her caregiver (Mama Mary), Melonese James-Ademuyiwa (Yvonnest), Rose James (Rosie, Posie, Strosis) and Sharlene Humphrey (Rhaetta) all of Panama City, Florida; two nephews, Jammell Nelson (Melzy, Pelzey, Quelzey) of Panama City, Florida and Emmanuel Ademyiwa (Baby Nephew) of Atlanta, Georgia; three nieces, Gabrielle Johnson (Oldest Niece), Margaret Ademuyiwa (Middle Niece) and Christina Faulk (TT Baby & Baby Girl), all of Atlanta, Georgia; one great nephew, Andre Mylik Johnson (Great Baby Nephew) of Atlanta, Georgia; six uncles, Eugene (Dessie) Streets of Rockford, Illinois, Mark James of Detroit, Michigan, Samuel (Rose) James of Montgomery, Alabama, Joe N. James of Rochester, New York, David (Bertha) James (Godparents) of Panama City, Florida and Reverend Robert Jones of Dothan, Alabama; four aunts, Lillian Jones, Queen Ester Thompson both of Panama City, Florida, Katie (Johnny) Vickers and Cleo Workcuff both of Jacksonville, Florida; two god-sisters, Cassandra (Bobby) Gordon and Erica (Albert) Gissendanner; a god-nephew, David McGhee; a god-niece, Aebony Brown; special bonus god-mother, Pinnie Hunter (Her mother’s best friend); favorite brother-in-law, Edward Ademuyiwa; favorite cousin, Sabrina Price; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be Nov 4th, 3-7 pm at Battle Mortuary. A Homegoing Celebration will be Nov 5th, 11 am at St. John MB Church. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Battle Mortuary.
