Alvin “Zip” Hamrick was born March 29, 1954 to the late Joker and Maggie Peeler Hamrick. He departed this life on October 25, 2022. Alvin attended New Zion Baptist Church in Henrietta at an early age, he also went to Dunbar School. He enjoyed planting, hiking, raising chickens, eating and most of all he loved fishing and children. His favorite word- “Easy Now”. He worked for Rick Davis and Morrow Brick Construction until he became disabled. In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by nine siblings, Ulysses Hamrick, Tony Hamrick, John William Hamrick, Jerry Hamrick, Elizabeth Camp, Racheal D. Phillips, Baby Ruth Hamrick, Melzie Hambrick and Sylvia Harris. Alvin leaves to cherish his fond memories; one brother, Eddie C. Hamrick of Florida, one sister, Emily Bracey of Henrietta, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Service Saturday, November 5, 2022 2:00 PM Ulysses D.
