Obituary For Mattie Bartee

Mrs. Mattie Bell Bartee was born in Quitman, Georgia on April 11, 1936 to the late Ellen Arnold and Rufus Johnson. She was a resident of Quitman. Mattie was a dedicated member of St. Philips Missionary Baptist Church in Quitman, Georgia.

On October 25, 2022, God called his loving child home to rest. He said come on home my child, your job down here is done. She was preceded in death by two sons Rev. Herbert Thomas, Earnest R. Johnson and a loving daughter Patricia Bartee.

Mrs. Mattie leaves to mourn, her daughters Merlene Johnson, Quitman, GA, Betty Johnson (Richard Denson), Valdosta, GA and Lillian Andrew (Gregory Andrew), Ohio, TX; son Apostle Herbert Bartee, St. Petersburg, FL; a loving grandson who never left her side Anthony Johnson; sisters Maggie Andrews, Maudie Virgil, Vivian Fountain, Geneva Williams; brothers Robert Hewitt and James Arnold; grandchildren Dianne Johnson, Joann Johnson, Julius Thompson, Felecia Boatman, Litundra Boatman, Mary Boatman, Shelia Johnson and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church mates and friends that will miss her dearly.
