She received her formal education in the Hershey Public School System and was a graduate of Hershey High School. Having a desire to further her education, she completed two years at Harrisburg Area Community College, earning an associates degree in accounting.
Mary Ann was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry for over 20 years. After retiring, she continued her need to stay busy by joining the team at Giant.
In 1987, Mary Ann received her greatest title and became a Mother. She was blessed to receive this title 3 more times and eventually graduated to the title of Grandma to six beautiful babies. She loved giving love. Any moment surrounded by friends, family and co-workers was time she enjoyed. Mary Ann was a lover of the sun and if she wasn’t on the beach, she could be found sitting in the sun with her dogs, dreaming of the beach. Her children, grandchildren and dogs were her entire world.
On Sunday, November 6, 2022 the Lord called Mary Ann to continue to be a guardian from above. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Yoder. She leaves to mourn her passing and to celebrate her life, her “favorite” sons, Aaron Berry Jr. and Baron McKinney; her best friends and daughters, Alyssa and Adrianna Berry; her three daughters in-law, Shadawn Berry, Morgan Berry and Alexis Morales; her six grandchildren, Alayna Lawrence, Amiyah Berry, Tyrone Diggs Jr., Aliyah Berry, Aryonna Berry and Avion Berry; her sister, Patricia Verdon and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mary Ann’s life will be celebrated on Monday, November 14 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton, with viewing and visitation from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
