Obituary For Mr. Phillip Anthony "Cheese" Little

Mr. Phillip Anthony Little, more affectionately known as “Cheese”, was born on September 20, 1965, to the late Mrs. Betty Ann Green Little and the late Mr. Robert J. Little in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. He was educated in the Upson County School System and attended the Upson High School.

After high school, Phillip became employed with the Upson Regional Medical Center in the maintenance department. He held numerous jobs after leaving the hospital, but finally he returned to the place he loved most, Upson Regional.

In 1979, he met and fell in love with Ms. Sonja Burston. On October 19, 1979, they were united in holy matrimony. They were married for forty-two years until Sonja’s passing on February 19, 2022. During his leisure time, Phillip enjoyed watching football, especially the Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a die-hard Falcon fan. He loved meeting other people and loved talking. He could hold a conversation with anyone. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters, Barnette Alsobrooks and Nora Vanessa Little; and one brother, Billy R. Little. On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, the Lord called his name. He answered the call and went home to rest. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Phillip leaves to cherish his memory, five sisters, Mrs. Minnie P. Anderson of Edison, GA, Ms. Brenda L. Little, Ms. Peggy A. Little, Mrs. Mary F. (Edward) King and Ms. Brenda Ellerbee all of Thomaston, GA; four brothers, Mr. Hugh Little, Mr. Ronnie Little and Mr. Amyer A. (Jennie) Jones all of Thomaston, GA and Mr. David (Melody) Little of San Antonio, TX; aunts and uncles, Mrs. Rose Lee (Lonnie ) Lundy of Naranja,FL, Ms. Minnie Lee Little, Mrs. Lillie Rogers, and Mrs. Georgia Mae Green all of Thomaston, GA : great -aunt and uncle, Ms. Lula Green and Mr. Robert Green both of Thomaston, GA; sisters and brothers-law, Mrs. Samela (Terry) Medlock of Albany, GA and Mr. Stephen (Barbara) Burston of Augusta, GA; a devoted friend Mrs. Earnestine Wilson of Thomaston, GA, one son, one daughter, and six grandchildren he loved as his own; two devoted friends, Mr. Tifford (Carolyn) Searcy and Mr. Kenny (Hattie) Copeland all of Thomaston, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Interment was held in Southview Cemetery
