Obituary For Curtiss Carter

Curtiss Carter, 78 of Eden, NC passed Tuesday, November 15, 2022. The family will be receiving friends from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. at Piney Fork PP Baptist Church, Eden, NC on Saturday, November 19, 2022 with funeral service held at 1:00 p.m. Internment will follow at Eden Garden Cemetery, Eden, NC.

Curtiss Carter, in the twinkling of an eye on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, our loved one departed this life at Annie Penn Nursing Center, Reidsville, NC. He transitioned from his earthly home life to his heavenly home. Curtiss was born to the late Rev. Thomas Pinkney Broadnax and Nancy Betty Ruth Broadnax on December 20, 1943.

He attended the public school system in Rockingham County. He retired from Fieldcrest/Karstan Mills in Eden, NC and was a hardworking, soft-spoken gentleman. He was affectionately known as “Smokey” and “Pony” who loved to play the guitar.

Curtiss attended Piney Fork PP Baptist Church, Eden, NC, where he loved to sing and praising the Lord in the Male Chorus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Adlene Galloway Carter, two sons; Curtis Eric Carter, Jr and Kenneth Carter and one sister; Henrietta Cox.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Two daughters; Mary Ellen Carter of the home and Stephanie Carter of Eden, NC. Sisters; Sarah Miller, Fayetteville, NC, Virginia Johnson (John), Reidsville, NC, Wendy Broadnax McCollum, Reidsville, NC. Brothers; Thomas Broadnax, Jr. (Diane), Fayetteville, NC, Christopher S. Broadnax, Reidsville, NC. Special uncle; Paul Carter of Reidsville, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
