Obituary For Rev. Josephine Little

Reverend Josephine Little was born March 29, 1945 to the late Lewis Little and Janie Liles Little, both of Wadesboro, North Carolina. She departed this life on November 15, 2022. She was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters. She graduated from West Deep Creek High School. After graduating, she pursued a career as a teaching assistant and school bus driver with Anson County School System.

Reverend Little accepted Christ at a young age while attending West Rocky Ford Baptist Church, Polkton, North Carolina. As an adult, she became a member of Henry Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for the adult class. While serving there she accepted the call on her life to minister to the masses. She completed her ordination while serving in the Baptist field. After several years, she changed denominations and joined the Methodist field, her home church being Gatewood Station AME Zion Church. She was soon appointed Pastor of Cecil Bishop Methodist Church where she served several years. Later in life, Reverend Little was accepted into Shaw University where she graduated and received a Bachelor of Science degree.

She touched many throughout her life. She was loved and adored by many.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Jozean Little Thomas of Charlotte, NC, two grandchildren, Surrell and Julian and one great grandchild, Demontre Smith. There are also nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Monday, November 21, 2022, 2:00pm, in the Chapel of Smith's Funeral Home, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will follow in the family plot of Henry Grove Baptist Church, Lilesville, North Carolina.

The Family will greet family and friends on 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour on Monday, November 21, 2022 (1:30-2:00pm).

The public viewing will be on Monday, November 21, 2022, 12:00-2:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel.
