Obituary For Marjorie Johnson

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Mother Marjorie (Marge) Johnson was born on January 30, 1942 to the late Frank and Betty Johnson in the rural area of Brooks County, Georgia.

She was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Neady O’Neal and Tammy Madison, 2 grandsons, Thomas James Johnson and Michael Jermaine Bradley, 1 great-grandson, Allen Jerod Johnson, 9 siblings, Evelyn (Preston) Williams, Frankie (Wesley) Brinson, Lucille Brice, Robin Navel Heyward, Otis (Daisy) Johnson, James (Nora) Johnson, Frank Jay (Willie Mae) Johnson, Sr., Mally (Armetta) Johnson, and Emery (Wilburt) Johnson.

Mother Johnson was a member of the New Generation Christian Ministries church located in Quitman, Georgia under the leadership of the late Pastor Alice M. Edwards. She later served under watch care at the Keys of Life Outreach Ministries, also located in Quitman, Georgia under the leadership of Apostle Willie Freeman Jr.

She worked as a faithful employee in the school system in Cleveland, Ohio. She later worked within the Brooks County School system in Quitman, GA and retired in 2004.

She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories, 3 daughters, Gail (Earnest) Bradley and Elder Sherrill O’Neal both of Valdosta, GA, Jackee (Anthony) Johnson of Chester, Virginia, 1 son, Steve Madison of Valdosta, GA, 1 brother-in-law, Leroy Heyward of South Carolina, a special niece and nephew, Elder Theresa (Forest) Maxwell of Barney, GA, and Mr. Willie Edward Freeman, Sr. of Quitman, GA, 26 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren, and her long life fishing partner, Ms. Angela Byrdsong.

Special thanks is extended to her nurses, Ms. Mandy of Amedisys Home Health Services and Ms. Beverly of Hospice of South Georgia. Our family would also like to express our thanks and gratitude to her daughter and caretaker, Ms. Gail Bradley and also her great great grandson Jeremiah O’Neal. We thank you for the extra care and love given to our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and cousin. You did your best and we love you. A celebration of life will be Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 2PM at Calvary Christian Center. Burial will follow in Pallbearer Cemetery.
