Obituary For Angela Clark-Richardson

On Friday November 11, 2022, Veterans Day, Angela Clark-Richardson, loving wife, daughter, and mother of two, transitioned to her final resting place.

Angela was born in Winnsboro, Louisiana, welcomed by loving grandparents, TB and Willie White.

She grew up in Harrisburg, PA and received her formal education from John Harris High School, graduating in 1977. After graduation, she enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving with the 193rd Special Operations Wing Air National Guard unit in Middletown, Pennsylvania.

She was employed by the Department of Defense with 22 years of service, rising through the ranks of aircraft mechanical technician and retiring as a Master Sergeant. During her time, Angela received numerous awards and decorations for her contributions and support of her comrades.

Her secondary education includes a Bachelor of Church Ministry along with several certifications through The Sure Foundation Theological Institute.

Angela loved the Lord and would express her joy with praise and worship on any given Sunday. As a member of Gospel Fellowship Church since 1999, she served as a trustee and devoted member. During her tenure she was baptized and received the first hand of fellowship by her faithful, devoted friend, Bishop William Dallas. Throughout her Christian walk, she would say that Psalms 23 kept her grounded when life’s journey seemed unbearable.

Angela was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Mason Wright. She leaves to cherish her life and legacy her husband, Purnell Richardson, Sr. of Harrisburg; her children, Jarell Clark and Shakira Clark, both of Harrisburg; her parents, Vera White of Harrisburg and Robert Reynolds of Las Vegas, Nevada; her sister Robyn (Jason) White of Naples, Italy; her cousin-brother, Samarro Reynolds of Maryland and a host of other family and friends. She was affectionately known as “Mama Angela” by her bonus children.

Angela’s greatest joy was the love of her grandchildren, Makayla Lemelle, Maleea Lemelle, Landen Moore, Landis Moore, Iyana Morris, Tyree Morris, Jarell Clark and Jhakir Clark, all of Harrisburg.

Angela’s memory will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.

Her life will be celebrated on Monday, November 21 at 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary of her church, Gospel Fellowship, 1635 N. 7th St., Harrisburg, with viewing and visitation from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

COVID-19 Guidelines will be observed with face masks for all attendees.

Continue prayers and blessings for my friend's family. Angela will always be special in my heart. When her children were in my class that was awesome. We used to laugh about everything from A-Z in person and on the telephone, since junior high school. Sitting next to here in committee meetings was a blast. Family continue to be strong and follow in her footsteps and be GREAT and CARING! Take care of grandmother, sweet Mrs. Vera. The service was beautiful.

To Angie's Husband, Family & Friends, I Pray that God wraps his arms around each of you as you reflect on the many memories of times spent together with Angie. For me, I will always treasure the memories that Angie and I created during our annual trips to South Korea in support of Team Spirit while we served in the military together, our lunches and the many stimulating and intellectual conversations we shared over the years. I have so many fond memories of Angie and I will definitely smile whenever one of those memories come to mind. I will miss Angie's seemingly endless source of positive energy and love. But, I am eternally grateful that I got to experience so much of it and to be able to call her one of my dear friends!

Condolences I offer my deepest sympathy to Angie's loved ones. Angie, I will cherish our time together over the last year while reconnecting through our daily talks, laughing, and being silly like schoolgirls. You were a Warriors Queen who never complained about your illness. I'll miss you, and in your honor, I plan on taking that pottery class we discussed. Rest in power; I love you, lady. To Purnell, Clark & Reynolds's-White Family, Mark and I would like to send our deepest condolences and prayers. May God continue to watch over you all during this time. My Sister Ang, Oh my. I'm still loss for words. I met Angie at the 193rd as military guardsman over 20 years ago, we were friends automatically. That's the effect Angie had on folks. She would give the shirt off her back. She was an entrepreneur at heart. She always had solution to your problem. Her home was your home. She was my sister from another mother. We spent hours on the phone. My children and my husband loved her whole heartedly. We shared good and bad times. I admired her strength, her family love for her husband, children, grand children, sister, and mother and extended family. She honored the Lord, her mother and father and her country. The three highest honors you can achieve in this life. She earned her Wings for sure. May my sister Ang, Rest In Peace and definitely in Heaven. Truly, missed by the Thompsons but never ever forgotten.
