John Henry Torbert, 84, of Bronx, New York departed this life November 17, 2022. Surviving are his wife, Bobbie L. Torbert; three daughters, Kena M. Torbert, Johnelle M. Torbert and Shalema Taylor (Kelvin); two grandsons, John -Avery Clark and Bryson L. Taylor; two sisters, Nona Sistrunk and Lula Torbert; sisters-in-law Edith Tolbert (Samuel), and Bernice Matthews ( Robert, deceased); brother-in-law James Matthews (Ernestine), other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd, where viewing will be held Friday, November 25, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 26, at Scott's Chapel, 116 E.
