ANNIE PEARL MERRITT THOMAS, 84, OF 1921 FORESTVILLE RD PEACEFULLY TRANSITIONED ON NOVEMBER 17 AT HER RESIDENCE. SHE WAS BORN IN WAKE COUNTY, NC ON NOVEMBER 09, 1938 TO THE LATE HERMAN DUNSTON AND PEARL MERRITT. SHE WAS VALEDICTORIAN, CLASS OF 1956, DUBOIS HIGH SCHOOL IN WAKE FOREST, NC. SHE RECEIVED A DEGREE FROM MAJORING IN ENGLISH FROM JOHNSON C. SMITH UNIVERSITY IN CHARLOTTE, NC. SHE WAS MARRIED 56 YEARS TO THE LATE SAMUEL THOMAS. SHE RETIRED FROM THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE AS A HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER IN RALEIGH, NC AFTER 35 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE. THE FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE PROFESSIONALLY DIRECTED ON TUESDAY AT 11 AM AT FEGGINS & FEGGINS CHAPEL IN WAKE FOREST, NC. THE BURIAL WILL FOLLOW IN THE PINE FOREST MEMORIAL GARDENS IN WAKE FOREST, NC.

I remember cousin Ann took me to North gate mall when I was 6 to get clothes we had a very good time with her and I use to spend the night at her house she told me she had my own room.
