Mildred Ruth Steen Johnson, a resident of Montgomery, AL, passed away on November 15, 2022. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 11:00 a. m. from First CME Church, 4358 Oak Street, Montgomery, AL, 36108 with Pastor Keenan K. Winters officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with the staff of E. G. Cummings Memorial Funeral Home directing. She leaves to carry on her legacy her devoted children: Yolanda (Tony) Spears (Chicago, IL); Greg (Jerri) Johnson, Larry (Belinsia) Johnson, Sharon (William) Stallings, Debra Johnson, Jocelyn (Julius) Hicks, Cathy Johnson (Montgomery, AL); and Monica (Korey) Campbell (Hoover, AL): one sister: Helen Steen Love (Chicago, IL): one brother-in-law: Albert Johnson (Detroit, MI): grandchildren: Akida Hooks, Josette (Quatorius) Carr, Shandalyne Johnson, Christian Hicks, Caitlin Hicks, Chase Hicks, DeBray (Shanderia) Johnson, Briana Spears, Antonio Stallings, Gabrielle Johnson, Austin (DeKayla) Johnson, Shalyn (Dwight) Sweeney, Jordan Johnson, Jada Johnson, Klarke Campbell, and Kodie Campbell: great-grandchildren: Kionna Hooks, Autumn Spears, Amelia Hicks, Autumn Hicks, Ezra Hicks, Kaysey Sweeney, Kayden Sweeney, Samariah Carr, and Anthony Carr: devoted nephew, whom she often referred to as her "first child"; Willie Hines: adopted grandchildren: Patrick Means, Jacinda Means, and Ashley (Donnell) Collins: god-children: James (Debra) Perry, Brenetta Redd, Kenneth Redd, Glenda Redd, Vallerie Redd, and Tiffany Redd: numerous people (too many to name) who claimed her as their mother, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and very devoted friends.
