Thomas “Tom” Hall transitioned on November 19, 2022, at James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital, Tampa, Florida. Tom was born on August 28, 1947, in Nahunta, Georgia, to the late Louella Green Carter and Marvin E. Hall. He was the third oldest of ten children. During his younger years, he was educated in Jacksonville, Florida, but later was educated and graduated from the Ware County School District in Georgia. After graduating from high school, he met the love of his life, Marylin Parrish. However, when he moved to Cleveland, Ohio, he received orders to be drafted into the army. He was sad to leave Marylin, but they remained in contact while he fulfilled his patriotic duty. During his two-year term of service, he fought one tour in the Vietnam War where he was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. He received several commendations including the National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Army Commendation. Upon receiving an honorable discharge, he moved to Detroit, Michigan, and married the woman who first captured his heart, Marylin Parrish. It was in Detroit that he began his career in Environmental Services. Tom and Marylin spent time in Waycross, Georgia, Fernandina Beach, Florida, Houston, Texas, and eventually settled in Tampa, Florida for the past 38 years. He enjoyed golfing, singing, playing spades and the smell of coffee brewing day or night. He also found enjoyment in volunteering at the Diamond Hill Golf Course and working hard at his job in the Environmental Services Department. Tom and Marylin reared two daughters whom he adored and, was blessed to be an active part of spoiling his only granddaughter, Michaela. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Louella Carter, his father, Marvin E. Green, and his sister Mamie Mitchell. He leaves to cherish all his special memories to: his wife of 53 years, Marylin Hall, his daughters Monique Hall (Rodney Daniel), Atlanta, Georgia, Teresa (Michael) Rogers, Little Rock, Arkansas, one granddaughter, Michaela L. Rogers, and siblings Verdell (Harvey) Long, Waycross, Georgia, Willie Jean Thomas, Nahunta, Georgia, Vivian Gilchrist, Nahunta, Georgia, Cassandra (Joel) McLune, Waynesville, Georgia, Donnie L.
