Obituary For Della Mae Simpson

Mrs. Della Mae Simpson, 88, of Salem, AL passed Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in Salem, AL.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST Sunday, November 27, 2022 at St. Ellis Full Gospel Church, Opelika, AL (Marvyn Community) with Apostle James Fears, pastor, officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. EST.

Mrs. Della Mae Simpson was born October 3, 1934 in Opelika, AL to the late Rosie Allen Ingram and the late Owens Moore. She was a faithful and loyal member of St. Ellis Full Gospel Church in Opelika, AL where she was a member of the choir. She enjoyed fishing, shopping and going out to eat.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories three sisters, Louise Moore and Betty Allen both of Salem, AL and Essie Kate Moore of Dayton, OH; one brother, Tommy Moore of Montgomery, AL; three sisters-in-law, Annie Pearl Moore of Phenix City, AL, Lula Toliver of Dallas, TX and Nell Hodge of Salem, AL; one brother- in- law, Lonnie Simpson of Salem, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

My condolences to the family, as I look back on Ms Della where she was always getting the girls off of my bus (4) of them from hurtsboro headstart. She would always smile, throw her hands up to me and she was a sporty young lady I would tell her you sure do look good she would smile and say for real and I would say yes. The last month I looked for her when Mr Walton or Cynthia would come to the bus. I was so saddened to here of her passing but To God Be The Glory. Rt 71 Janie Battle Edelman Center
