Lois Moore Hill was born on January 22, 1936, in Polk County, NC to the late Margaret Moore and Lon Hamilton. She was eighty-six when she departed this life on November 20, 2022, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills of Forest City, NC. She was a faithful member of Wheat Creek Baptist Church in Polk County; NC and she served as the mother of the church. She loved her flowers and her garden. If anyone could get anything to grow it would be her. Lois worked for many years at Rutherford Hospital in the laundry department. She also worked in two private homes for many years. She never retired. She was preceded in death by her parents; three children; Brenda Edgerton, Carolyn Edgerton, David Hill, two grandchildren, Tony Edgerton, Shawn Hamilton, four sisters, Katie Hamilton, Leslie Dabney, Ruth Greene, Alma Murray, one brother, Cal Phillip of Boiling Spring, SC and a host of aunts and uncles. She leaves to cherish her fond memories three daughters: Linda Kelly of Rutherfordton, NC, Rev. Margie Hines (James) of Forest City, NC, Barbara Edgerton of Rutherfordton, NC, one son, Tommy Hill of Rutherfordton, NC, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
