Obituary For Susie M. Jackson

Mrs. Susie M. Jackson, 77, of Phenix City, AL passed Thursday, November 24, 2022 in Phenix City, AL.

Graveside service will be held 12:00 noon EST, Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Green Acres Cemetery, Columbus, GA with Rev. Joshua Blanding, officiating. Visitation is Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 12-5 p.m. EST.

Susie M. Carter Jackson was born in Pittsview, Alabama, to the late Freddie Carter and the late Ella Mae Hinton-Carter who both preceded her in death. Susie was the sixth of ten children born to this union. Seven preceded her in death.

Susie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and continued these teachings throughout her life. She moved to Michigan and joined the Plesant Grove Baptist Church in Detroit where she was an active church member. She served on the Senior Usher Board, Angels of Mercy Mission and taught Sunday School. Susie was a product of the Alabama Public School System and graduated from Alabama State University.

She went on to work in the Public School system. She taught two years in the Georgia Public School System and dedicated the remaining 30 years of her career to the Michigan Public School System in Detroit, Michigan.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories and legacy two children, Shawn (Dionne) and Steven (Daljit) Sanders; four grandchildren, Diamond, Keith, Dallas and Destiny; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Freddie (Mary) Carter and Willie James Carter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
