Obituary For Elizabeth Lockhart

Mrs. Elizabeth Lockhart, 96, of Columbus, GA passed Friday, November 25, 2022 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. EST Sunday, December 4, 2022 at We Can Ministries, Phenix City, AL with Pastor Annie Lewis, pastor and Apostle, Dr. Annette Johnston, officiating. Burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Phenix City, AL. Visitation is Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 12-5 p.m. EST.

Mrs. Elizabeth James Lockhart was born May 20, 1926, in Ft. Mitchell, AL to the late Lucious James and Marie Davis James.

She accepted Christ at an early age and attended New Hope and St. Joseph School. She a earned an associate degree in upholstery and worked 30 plus years as a seamstress for National Linen. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Lawrence Lockhart on March 3, 1944, to this union four children were born.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories four children, Lawrence (Fannie) Lockhart, Jr. of Detriot, MI, Catherine (Austin IV) Sumbry of Phenix City, AL, Pastor Annie (Willie, Sr.) Lewis of Columbus, GA and Rev. Dr. Christine (Frank) Ivey of Seale, AL; 16 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
